Please tell me that somebody has the answer! I've done as much as I can alone, and now I need the community to tag in. My Wi-Fi PCI Adapter works in Windows XP and in Windows Vista too, but it isnt working in Windows 7 RC1, Windows Update doesent. However, the card does still not work, the device manager shows device cannot start code 10. Having gotten this far, I'm practically crying with frustration. WG311v3 G54 Wireless PCI Adapter But yes that netgear wg311 v3 tree pretty much sums the support im getting from netgear. I have tried to configure the connection, change the security settings to WPA2, but it simply will not work. It seems to be asking for something either five or ten digits long, which I'm guessing is a different security standard to the one my router actually uses. It asks me to input a security key, but will not accept the correct password. The only problem is, I can't connect to it. I can see my home router under "wireless connections" in the bottom right hand corner. Success! The card now seems to be working perfectly. It wouldn't recognize the card at all at first, but I fixed that by installing "ndiswrapper-dkms" in synaptic package manager then running "sudo modprobe ndiswrapper" in the terminal. This seemed to work, barring a couple of minor hiccups. I also downloaded Windows drivers from Netgear's website, and used ndiswrapper to install them in lubuntu. I spent a good few hours engaging in some premium Google-fu, before taking it downstairs and using an ethernet connection to install ndiswrapper from the software center.
NETGEAR WG311 NOT WORKING ON WINDOWS 10 CRACKED
I guessed - seemingly correctly - that it was a driver problem, and cracked open the case to find out the model of the WiFi card (lspci didn't help much, it only told me that the card was a Texas Instruments TCX 111, which seems to be a generic chipset). My only problem was, it didn't recognize the WiFi card.

I installed Lubuntu and it works like a dream. It was an ancient Windows 2000 workstation - pretty low spec, but with lots of extra hardware goodies. I've been after a proper desktop computer for ages, and one of my best friends gave me a hand-me-down. So, I decided to make the plunge and become a Linux user.
